Lots of parents think their kid has what it takes to be the next child star.  Maybe your child shows an interest in acting or modeling. Perhaps your were approached in a mall by someone saying your kid has a great look and you should join their agency.

So how do you get started in "The Biz"? How do you find a reputable agent and not get scammed? There's lots of people out there who will promise to make your kid the next "Hannah Montana", but are they legit? Do you really have to spend all that money on acting lessons? How important are head shots? How do you get an agent? Do they need a manager? Can we get work on our own? child star hannah montana

Before you go any further, make sure your child really wants to do this. Is this their dream, or is it yours? There's lots of work involved in becoming a successful actor. If this isn't your child's passion, your going to be wasting a lot of time and money. They need to really want it. If you're doing it because you think you'll be able to retire off your kids earnings, think again. If you want to live through their celebrity, think again. Take acting classes yourself. Don't live vicariously through your child. But if your kid really, really wants to be an actor and can think of nothing else than appearing on screen, then read on.
